Applicants for U.S. citizenship are asked to name one of the rights granted Americans by the First Amendment to the Constitution. But the flash cards sold by the Government Printing Office to help immigrants prepare for the test and the answer sheet from which the flash cards were prepared fail to list one of those five rights – Freedom of the Press. A spokesman for Immigration Services says the 20-year-old test is “flawed” but assures the test is being fixed. By January, 2009, a free press will be back in the Constitution. (5/17/06)
