Rep. Mike Pence, R-In, said the House Judiciary Committee will shortly hold a hearing on the reporters’ shield law he has filed. No date has been set but Pence said announcing it during Sunshine Week was appropriate because the week is focused on the importance “of preserving a free and independent press and the public’s right to know.” (3/15/06)
