Judge Orders DNI to Release Some Electronic Surveillance Records

A privacy group challenging President Bush‘s domestic spying program won a minor victory when a federal judge ordered the government to release information about lobbying efforts by telecommunications companies to protect them from prosecution.  District Judge Susan Illston ordered the Director of National Intelligence to turn over to the Electronic Frontier Foundation “all responsive non-exempt documents” on discussions, briefings and other exchanges his office had with telecom companies.
