When Vice President Dick Cheney refused to report on his office’s efforts to protect classified information in apparent violation of a presidential order, the Justice Department was asked to rule on the matter. It did not. On Feb. 14, a Justice Department ethics office ruled that the inaction fell short of attorney misconduct and dismissed the matter. (2/22/08)
