Unlike other presidential hopefuls, Sen. John McCain is regularly and informally accessible to reporters covering the campaigns; his style is unchanged from the “straight talk” approach he developed eight years ago. “Reporters rarely quote his aides because the man himself is available to react to just about everything,” writes Washington Post media reporter Howard Kurtz., comparing that with the far more cautious approach of other candidates.
