Eighteen news organizations urged a federal judge in Boise, ID, to keep his courtroom open in the trial of confessed killer Joseph Duncan. U.S. District Court Judge Edward Lodge is considering whether to close the courtroom if a kidnap victim is called to testify or if the jury is shown a graphic videotape Duncan made as he tortured and killed her brother.
