The National Security Archive filed a suit against the White House seeking the recovery and preservation of more than five million e-mail messages that were apparently deleted from White House computers over a two year period beginning in March, 2003, and including the invasion of Iraq and the administration response to Hurricane Katrina. NSA Executive Director Tom Blanton said the White House has “erased our history.” (9/6/07)
