In a nod toward transparency in government, President-elect Obama’s transition team has set up a Web site, Your Seat at the Table, to track the many interest groups jostling for attention from the new administration, The New York Times reported.

The site, which includes information dating back to Election Day, lists groups coming into the transition offices for meetings along with the subjects discussed. It also offers copies of non-classified documents exchanged, according to the Times.  And the site allows for public comment.

Though it is not certain whether the site will remain up when Obama enters the White House, The Times reported, it indicates a departure from the Bush Administration’s closed-door government — and, perhaps, a sidestepping of the mainstream media.
