It appears unlikely that the reporters shield law urged by Washington state’s attorney general will be voted on by the state legislature this year, the Seattle Times reported. Chief Political Reporter David Postman said key senators are balking, in part because of newspaper editorials that criticized them as “obstructionist,” in part because they don’t want to give a victory to Attorney General Rob McKenna, and in part because of strong insurance industry opposition.
