Ohio Governor Must Disclose Reports but Keeps Executive Privilege

Ohio Gov. Bob Taft was told by his state’s supreme court he must release some 250 weekly reports he received from advisors, however, the court affirmed an earlier decision that said the governor had limited “executive privilege” to keep advice memos secret. The court, which read all the memos involved in the recent case and found them mundane, said requesters would have to show a special need for information to overcome the “privilege” the governor carried.
