The Oregon Supreme Court ruled that jury lists are not public information. The suit was brought by Jury Service Resource Center, which sought access to the lists to analyze potential jurors. The court rejected the firm’s argument that open juror lists were an integral part of the public trial guarantee. It upheld a state law that bars the disclosure of jury lists except to litigants in civil or criminal trials who allege that the jury was unlawfully selected. (5/4/06)
