The Jackson Sun argued before the Tennessee Supreme Court that field interviews by police investigators should be treated as public records and released on request after the investigation is completed. It’s been fighting with the city since 2005 over two sets of investigation documents. The city is appealing a lower court ruling in the newspaper’s favor. (4/5/07)
