A Freedom of Information Act law suit brought in 2004 against the Securities and Exchange Commission has ended in a loss for both sides. SEC Insight, a Minneapolis firm that mines SEC filings and data for information of interest to investors, sued the agency, seeking sanctions for its refusal to respond to FOIA requests. The court refused to sanction the agency but express “great frustration” with the SEC and directed it to release some of the documents sought. (9/4/07)
