From increasing protections for press freedom to expanding support for local news, 2022 was another successful year for RCFP.

Reporter Holly Bartholomew turned to RCFP’s local attorney in Oregon for help strengthening her appeal of a denied records request.

RCFP urged prosecutors to drop charges against April Fonseca Ehrlich, who was arrested in 2020 while reporting on law enforcement.

RCFP attorneys are representing Eugene Weekly in its effort to access bodycam videos documenting an arrest.

This is the first lawsuit filed by RCFP attorneys as part of the Local Legal Initiative in Oregon.
