A Wisconsin appeals court ordered the state’s Department of Natural Resources to turn over disciplinary records of a conservation warden that had been sought by the Lakeland Times in Minocqua. The warden has sued to block release of the records claiming they fell under a personnel exemption for “staff management planning.” The records involve the warden’s request for information on ownership of a car parked at the home of his nephew’s ex-girlfriend. The nephew was later arrested for allegedly planting drugs in the car. (11/1/06)
